  • Low odour.
  • One to 2 hour re-coat time. Only 24 hour gym down time. With a quick cure time, floors can be prepped and double coating in one working shift.
  • This self-catalysting formula requires no mixing or measuring, resulting in no mistakes, no pot life, and no wasted product.

  • Up to 1000 sq.ft.coverage.
  • Specifically designed as a performance counterpart for solvent and water-borne urethane finishes. Formulated with silanolsilane polymer, the crosslinking occurs during drying time.
  • NOTE: Not recommended as a first coat sealer for new or bare wood floors. Seal bare wood with an approved solvent-based sealer prior to finishing with DuraSport.

Directions

  • Preparing Previously Sealed Floors: Dry Screen Method:
    • 1. Dust mop floor to remove surface dirt and grit. Remove gum or adhesive residue with a putty knife.
    • 2. Remove oily deposits and marks by scrubbing with a single disk floor machine or automatic scrubber equipped with nylon scrub pads and a 1 -16 solution (8 oz. cleaner per ga. of water) of Dura Prep Hardwood Floor Cleaner. Pick up dirty solution and allow to dry.
    • 3. Dull the old finish by buffing with a standard speed (175 rpm) floor machine and 120 grit sand screen. Turn screens after 250 sq. ft. Change after using both sides. Buff in both directions using overlapping passes.
    • 4. Pick up dust by dry vacuuming followed by sweeping with a clean (not oil treated) dust mop or towel dampened with a 1 - 4 (32 oz. cleaner to 1 gallon water) solution of DuraPrep. Repeat until all dust is removed.

    Automatic Scrubber Wet System:

    • 1. Dust mop floor to remove dust and grit. Scrape up any gum or tape.
    • 2. Dilute DuraPrep with 4 parts water (32 oz. per gallon of water) in scrubber solution tank.
    • 3. Set up automatic with red scrub pads backing 120 grit sand screens.
    • 4. Scrub floor using overlapping passes going across the grain. Scrub slowly about 1 step per second. Use just enough solution to wet the floor and prevent dusting. Do not pick-up the solution as you scrub on first pass. Make a second pass following the grain. Pick up solution as you scrub. Change screens every 500 square feet. Do not allow floor to dry between passes.
    • 5.Change the solution tank to a 64-1 dilution (2ounces concentrate per gallon of water). Rescrub screened area in full automatic mode using red pads only no screens. Make sure floor is completely clean and dust free.
    • 6. Dust mop floor using 4 parts water to 1 part DuraPrep on a clean mop. Spray mop until wet but not dripping. Respray as needed. Change heads as they become soiled.

    Application:

    • Apply DuraSport with the grain of the wood. Keep a wet edge. Do not attempt to touch up an area after it has set for over 5 minutes. Apply in an even coat with no puddles. First coat coverage should be approximately 800 sq.ft. per gallon.
    • Allow the first coat to dry 1-2 hours with adequate ventilation. If humidity is high (70%+) an additional 1 -4 hours may be required prior to recoating. Do not allow to dry more than 8 hours between coats or screening will be required.
    • Apply the second coat. Let dry. A third coat may be applied within 4-8 hours of the second coat if desired.
    • Specifically designed as a performance counterpart for solvent and water-borne urethane finishes. Formulated with silanolsilane polymer, the crosslinking occurs during drying time.
    • This self-catalysing formula requires no mixing or measuring resulting in no mistakes, no pot life, and no wasted product.
    • With a quick cure time, floors can be prepped and double coated in one working shift

    • DuraSport can be applied with a conventional lambswool or chenille applicator or with a weighted foam applicator. Rinse all applicators to rid of lint and loose fibers prior to use. Do not apply with string mops.
    • Do not shake before using. Do not overwork (scrub) the applicator when applying.
    • Turn off air handlers during application to prevent loosing wet edge. After application is complete, wait 10-15 minutes before restarting air handlers.
    • When applying over floors that have been previously sealed with an unknown finish. Test in an inconspicuous area to insure compatibility.
    • Use with adequate ventilation.
